How a Big Book Led to a Small (But Mighty) One for Kids
When I was working on The Big Pattern Collection, surrounded by endless pages of lines, swirls, and ideas, my daughter peeked over my shoulder and said:
“Why don’t you make one for kids like me?”
She wasn’t wrong. While The Big Pattern Collection is a treasure trove for anyone passionate about drawing patterns, it can feel a bit overwhelming for little hands just starting out. And so, the idea for this new book was born — a book that would introduce children (and playful grown-ups) to the wonderful world of creative pattern drawing.
A Drawing Book with Heart
Learn the Art of Creative Pattern isn’t just another workbook.
It’s a gentle guide, a spark of imagination, and a hug in book form.
Two sweet characters, Anandria and Lirenai, accompany kids through every page. They explain things step-by-step, cheer for progress, and remind readers that every “mistake” is just part of the creative journey.
What’s inside?
- Super simple drawing techniques to get started
- A collection of pattern ideas with easy-to-follow steps
- Sweet stories and affirmations that nurture self-esteem
- Little exercises that sneakily build focus, coordination, and confidence
This book isn’t just about drawing — it’s about helping kids feel capable, calm, and creative.
For Kids… and the Kid in You
Though this book was created with children in mind, it has already found fans among adults who love to doodle, relax, and reconnect with their inner child.
It’s perfect for quiet afternoons, bedtime wind-downs, or any moment when the world feels a bit too fast.

As Promised in the Book – Create Your Own!
As promised in the book, here are a few of the blank templates for you to download and decorate with your own patterns and ideas.
They’re the same drawings you’ll find inside — like the ballerina or the turtle — but completely empty and ready for your imagination to take over.
