Affirmations That Stick – Literally ✨
When I was a young adult, I had this simple little habit: I would write down affirmations and stick them on my bathroom mirror. Nothing fancy. Just a few words on scraps of paper, taped where I’d see them every day.
And you know what? It worked.
Those little reminders stared back at me every morning, and slowly — almost invisibly — they began to shape how I felt about myself. They softened the self-doubt, lifted my mood, and gave me a little spark of courage to face the day.
That’s the power of repetition. The power of seeing the same gentle message until it becomes part of your own voice.
Now, as a parent and creator, I believe it’s beautiful to start this practice with kids as early as possible. Even before they can read, affirmation cards work — because children are like little sponges, soaking up everything around them. The pictures, the tone of voice, the words repeated out loud — it all leaves a deep impression.
At first, it’s about reading them together, talking about what the card means, connecting it to a little story or a daily moment. Later on, when a child sees the same card hanging on the fridge, taped to a notebook, or tucked into their room, the message is already familiar. It slips quietly into the subconscious — and stays there.
Positive words don’t just decorate a page. They can decorate the mind.
And that changes everything.
